According to El Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have started negotiations to sign Luis Suarez. Even before the bite on Chiellini, the Catalans were interested in the Uruguayan, and apparently instigated the forward’s recent apology letter. Zubizarreta welcomed the forward’s apology, and stated:
