Supporters of the American national team thanked Ronaldo for scoring against Ghana, securing the passage of the United States to the round of 16

Despite the extremely low likelihood of the United States being kicked out from Group G in their last game, Americans are still relieved their stay in Brazil is not yet over.

And why would it be? They earned their points, beat Ghana and, though they tied Portugal, Klinsmann’s boys arguably deserved the win against the Portuguese team as well.

As soon as Cristiano Ronaldo buried Portugal’s second goal, virtually destroying Ghana’s chances to progress, fans of the USMNT flooded twitter with messages of relief and funny tweets.

As stated above however, team America’s supporters need to be more faithful in their team, especially when the chances for Ghana or Portugal to go through the group stage instead of the United States, were next to inexistent.

Now Klinsmann’s squad will likely face Belgium, which will be a very good test to gage how far this passionate USMNT can go.
