Balotelli posted a picture of Instagram featuring himself standing on top of Rio, instead of the statue of Jesus.

Today, Italy’s striker Mario Balotelli, posted a funny picture of himself guarding over Rio de Janeiro. Clearly in the mood for the upcoming World Cup, Mario is not afraid of making fun of himself.

The talented player, described by his teammates as extremely nice and a good comrade, posted the picture on Instagram. The cartoon portrays the Italian striker on top of Rio, instead of the renowned statute of Jesus, with a caption that read:

Brasil! We are coming!”

As it usually happens with Supermario, media speculates over whether Balo truly sees himself as a Jesus-like savior for the national team. However, people that know him and understand humor, could immediately identify the joke and joined in replying with more jokes.

Supermario has always been a humorous player, not afraid of making fun of himself

In a recent interview, despite what medias have been trying to misrepresent, AS Roma’s Daniele De Rossi described Balotelli as a good guy. Roma’s future captain stated:

“Balotelli? One needs to know him before talking about him, and I know him. He is a good kid, I played with many egoistical players, but he is a very nice guy.”
