With worries over Cristiano Ronaldo's fitness ahead of the World Cup, one witch doctor in Ghana claims the Real Madrid man has been cursed

Cristiano Ronaldo's wonderful season has been awfully plagued with a series of injuries. The Real Madrid ace has been numerously sidelined, keeping him out of many key fixtures, with the Copa del Rey final being one of them.

And now news out of the Seleccao camp reveals that the 2013 Ballon d'Or winner is suffering from a tendonitis patellar in his left leg, a different injury from the previously reported thigh strain, meaning he is bearing a double injury.

With doubts over his fitness, and his ability to make Portugal's opening game against Germany, an intriguing, yet very odd story of a witch doctor in Ghana being the cause of all of Cristiano's pain has emerged.

A man by the name of Nana Kwaku Bonsam, which translates as “Devil of Wednesday”, who describes himself as a “traditional priest”, has come out, claiming he is behind Los Blancos star's injury woes.

When speaking to Ghanaian radio station Angel FM, the witch doctor stated that he has cast a “spiritual” injury on Ronaldo in an attempt to prevent him from featuring in the World Cup group stage match against Ghana, the priest's home country.

“I know what Cristiano Ronaldo’s injury is about, I’m working on him,” Nana Kwaku Bonsam said to Angel FM.

“I am very serious about it. Last week, I went around looking for four dogs and I got them to be used in manufacturing a special spirit called ‘Kahwiri Kapam’.

“I said it four months ago that I will work on Cristiano Ronaldo and rule him out of the World Cup or at least prevent him from playing against Ghana and the best thing I can do is to keep him out through injury.

“This injury can never be cured by any medic, they can never see what is causing the injury because it is spiritual. Today, it is his knee, tomorrow it is thigh, next day it is something else.”

With the priest claiming to be working against him, will CR7 reach a top fitness level in time?
