Ronaldo's appearance in Brazil may be jeopardized by injuries to his left leg.

On Wednesday, the Portuguese FA released a worrisome statement concerning the condition of their star player, Cristiano Ronaldo. The winger is apparently suffering from a strain in his left leg and a new tendonitis patellar, also in his left leg.

The tendonitis had been kept secret by Real Madrid during the end of the season, which saw the Portuguese frequently on the bench. However, now the Portuguese national club announced the issues publicly.

Fans go crazy as Ronaldo lands in New Jersey to join Portugal at their training ground

Florentino Perez seemed preoccupied about the health of his best player, just crowned with a second Balon d’Or this season. Los Blancos’ president said:

I'm concerned that a player might get injured as happened with Kaká or with Khedira with Germany. Players like Cristiano should only play when they are fit.”

Ronaldo's season finish was disrupted by his injuries

On the other hand, Ronaldo’s national teammate Nani appeared relaxed and not worried about the condition of CR7. Manchester United’s winger stated:

I don’t believe the situation with Ronaldo is worrying. He’s going well, and he is relaxed about it. […] We hope that Cristiano is in good enough shape to play and to help the team.”

Without Ronaldo, Portugal may not even make it out of the group
