Diego Costa completed the medical at Chelsea and is ready to move to Stamford Bridge.

During the last month Chelsea have been trying to close the deal that would take Diego Costa to Stamford Bridge. The Spanish striker had an impressive season and after Atletico Madrid eliminated Chelsea from the Champions League, Mourinho made his wish known.

As it always happens with the dreams of whoever coaches the Blues, they become reality thanks to the team’s generous owner, Roamn Abramovich. Therefore, it should shock nobody if the Russian president decided to cough up £32M for Atleti’s gem.

However, you don’t always need the best players in every position to win.

Arguably, the Special One already had the best club in England, but lost decisive points against small teams. The Rojiblancos’ forward will hardly cure that problem, as strikers like Eto’o or Torres can already make the difference against Southampton or Newcastle.

This is Mourinho though, a master of excuses and of blaming everything and everyone, but himself. In fact, the Portuguese would not be satisfied with only Costa and is looking to substitute departing Cole and Lampard, with Atleti’s Filipe Luis and Tiago. Chelsea’s manager will likely use Torres as a valuable asset to arrive to the Brazilian left-back and the Portuguese midfielder.
