The Honduras national team, also nicknamed los Catrachos, La Bicolor or La H, have qualified three times to the finals of the FIFA World Cup, including the present qualification to Brazil 2014.

Los Catrachos however, are a much stronger than their past statistics suggest. They qualified finishing in third place, four points above Mexico and just behind Costa Rica and the United States. La Bicolor won four matches, tied three and lost only against Costa Rica, Panama and team USA.

In Brazil, Honduras will rely heavily on its two stars: Wilson Palacios, who plays for Stoke City, and Jerry Bengtson, New England Revolution’s striker. The latter, at age 27, has already scored 19 goals for his country in just 41 appearances since 2010. On the other hand, the skillful defensive midfielder scored six goals in the last 92 appearances and is the fifth most capped player for the South Americans.
