ARD and ZDF will combine to show all 64 World Cup Matches on television, live streaming and radio in Germany

Watch the World Cup in GermanyGerman football fans will be treated with having access to all 64 World Cup matches televised live for the first time ever in a World Cup. As well, all matches will be available online and through official World Cup Apps, as well as on Radio.

The television, live streaming and radio World Cup broadcasts will be shared between ARD (Das Erst and Eins Festival) and ZDF (ZDF and ZDF Info) networks.

World Cup matches in Germay will be aired at 18:00 hrs and 21:00 hrs German time. For Match Day 3, group stage match kick-off time will be at 22:00 hrs.

The World Cup matches will be available online and via apps for German viewers via ARD on their website and app, as well as via ZDF on the ZDF Sport website and ZDF Mediathek app. Each platform will provide their respective matches live and on-demand. Users will have the ability to view the matches interactively on the digital platforms with the selection of various tactical camera angle views in real-time.

Below is a breakdown of the World Cup broadcast coverage in Germany across all platforms:

Watch the World Cup on TV in Germany:

  • Das Erst and ZDF will combine to deliver the World Cup matches live with German language commentary. Each channel will air one live match per match day.
  • Eins Festival and ZDF Info will combine to offer live television broadcasts for Match Day 3 group matches, where all three group matches are broadcast simultaneously.

Watch the World Cup through live streaming online and on-demand in Germany:

  • All 64 matches will be available via live stream online on both the Das Ers and ZDF Sport websites. The websites will both offer on-demand replays of all their respective matches with the tactical-view stream interactivity.
  • All 64 matches will be available to watch live and on-demand via the ARD Mediathek App and the ZDF Mediathek App. Both apps will offer similar functionality as their respective websites. Apps are available on both iOS and Android platforms.
  • The Sportschau WM App and the Sportschau.de website will offer users live streams and live scores from the World Cup. The app will be available starting on June 1st in the App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android).
  • Users can also view the ARD and ZDF World Cup broadcasts on the Zatoo platform,  via Zatoo online and the Zatoo App on iOS and Android platforms.

Listen to the World Cup on German Radio:

  • All 64 matches will be available on German radio, coverage will be round the clock, 24 hours a day seven days a week. Live World cup coverage will be available on SWR3, one live, NDR 2, Bayern 3, WDR 2 and N-Joy. Additional coverage will be available on Germany Radio, MDR INFO, Germany Funk, HR info, B5 and rbb info.
