Transfer News: Arsenal Could Really Benefit From Julio Cesar

Arsenal's lackadaisical approach in the transfer market could see them miss out on Julio Cesar.

Since the days of David Seaman and Jens Lehman, Arsenal has struggled to find a consistent shot-stopper. From Lukasz Fabianski, Manuel Almunia, Vito Mannone and now Wojciech Szczesny, Arsene Wenger has had a hard time sorting out the problem between the posts.

When David Seaman arrived from Queens Park Rangers in 1990, he brought with him a resume that consisted of three clubs (Peterborough United, Birmingham City, QPR), and a total of 307 appearances. He had also already spent two years with the English National Team, making him a good option for the Gunners at the age of 27.

Transfer News: Relegation bound striker set to sign for Arsenal this summer?

Monday May 6 2013,
Tags: Loic Remy, QPR, Arsenal, Transfer, Arsene Wenger
Before putting pen to paper with QPR in January, it was speculated that Loic Remy would sign for Arsenal before the 2012/13 season kicked off.

The 26-year-old French striker made his move to the Premier League in January of 2013, but his stay with QPR could be cut short due to their already confirmed relegation.

Harry Redknapp was just one of many key figures brought into the London club to save the side from a potential relegation battle, but not even the former Tottenham Hotspur manager was able to save Tony Fernandes' club.

Heading into next season, Remy appears to be set to move on from his five month adventure with QPR. His move to London cost approximately 8 million pounds, but Arsene Wenger is confident that if he was to make a bid, he could sign the French international at a cheaper price.

EPL 2012-13 Fantasy Week 28: Injuries, suspensions galore, Suarez to look at

Thursday February 28 2013,

Others point-givers could be Mata, Ba and the Southampton v QPR game
You know it is the business end of the Premier League season when it is March and the football fantasy managers will be feeling no different. Injuries, suspensions and a rather weird looking second week of this month (match-day 29) make for an interesting this match-day week number 28.

First up let's look at the players who may not feature in the coming week. Robin van Persie's unfortunate knock with a camera meant that he had to be subbed off last week and with a vital upcoming Champions League mid-week clash for Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson may not want to risk him for the Norwich fixture. It should allow Javier Hernanadez another go as the leader of the attack with Wayne Rooney playing behind him.

David Villa to Arsenal

Villa was unhappy at Barcelona while Arsenal needed a great striker. All in all, Villa and Arsenal would be a match made in Heaven. However, Barcelona decided to step in. The Catalan club decided that they needed Villa to stay on for squad depth. The price tag for Villa was high too and Arsene Wenger, as we all…

Tags: Transfer, Queens Park Rangers, English Premier League
Should Queens Park Rangers fail to survive in the English Premier League, the balance between the players’ salaries and the club’s condition will likely create strong headaches.
The last 18 months have been really tumultuous for Queens Park Rangers, they held on by the skin of their teeth on the last day of last season. They were really lucky to stay in the Premier League despite losing to Manchester City on Matchday 38.

This season is proving to be no different; the club is in deep trouble. They have managed to pick up only 16 points after playing 24 games and are currently rock bottom of the table. Survival looks a daunting task for QPR whose recent influx of players proves the intent to remain in the top division.

Christopher Samba was signed from Anzhi Makhachkala in a late transfer. The London-based side also signed French Ligue 1 player Remy before the window closed. A host of other names were brought in during the last 18 months but positive results remain very rare.

Arsenal will be under pressure to get a victory after having lost their last two official matches. For the visitors, Queens Park Rangers is still looking for their first victory in the English Premier League.

The last match for the Gunners at Carrow Road did not go so well for the London side. An extremely lackluster performance with not much creativity or urgency in the offensive half carried over into their Champions League match midweek.

Fans filled the Emirates Stadium hoping to watch Arsenal bounce back from their second Premier League defeat, but once again, Arsene Wenger's side seemed out of it. Santi Cazorla's trickery and outstanding passing weren't enough for Arsenal to get the three points.

Bouncing back at home against a last-placed Queens Park Rangers will be extremely important for Arsenal.

Champions League spot favourites Arsenal in tricky battle against relegation fighters QPR

Friday March 30 2012,
Tags: Theo Walcott, Arsene Wenger
With a win against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, Arsenal will take their tally to 8 games unbeaten in the Premier League.
They are placed 3rd in the table and the other similarity they share with their opponents other than geography is that Rangers are also 3rd but from the opposite end of the table.

A new manager galvanizes a club and the footballing world expected a manager of Mark Hughes pedigree to do just that. Under him, QPR have 1 win in 10 Premier League games. The solitary win against Liverpool was a insane story of the Reds capitulating to ship 3 goals in the final 13 minutes squandering a 2 goal lead. Shocking to say the least.
