Barcelona vs Atletico live: Watch Spanish Super Cup crowning on August 28, 2013

It's time for the second leg of the 2013 Spanish Super Cup, Barcelona vs Atletico Madrid. The Camp Nou will be on fire with this huge fixture which you need to watch live.

Lionel Messi is back for the 2013 Spanish Super Cup.Preview: Which player will be the Supercopa de Espana hero?

With Lionel Messi back from injury, it is hard to predict which star will settle the game for his respective team, tonight; that is, if the battle sees a clear Man of the Match winner. In the first leg, David Villa’s opening goal almost gifted Atleti a valuable victory at the Vicente Calderon.

However, Neymar had other ideas. The Brazilian came on as a substitute to rescue new manager Gerardo Martino and the Blaugrana from defeat.

This two-legged Spanish Super Cup tie is wide open. Barcelona are known dominate games – especially at the Camp Nou. Still, Diego Simeone’s men must not be doubted. If Atletico Madrid are playing tonight, it is because they managed to stun bitter city rivals Real Madrid last season in the Copa del Rey final.

Barcelona are experiencing a new cycle under Martino. They will be hoping to win their first trophy of the campaign in front of their home supporters. How likely is an upset of the Catalans, though?

Lionel Messi, only returning from injury after missing last weekend’s 1-0 win away to Malaga, may or may not display the best of his abilities. This does not mean that tonight’s visitors will have a quiet time defending.

Expect Atletico – if they ever find their tempo at the Camp Nou – to defend a lot and try to hit Barca on the counter, just like Bayern Munich did in the UEFA Champions League semis last season.

In fact, Simeone’s men are under pressure since they are obliged to score to stand a chance of lifting the 2013 Spanish Super Cup. The 1-1 draw from the first leg means a goalless draw on Wednesday night will see Barcelona succeed current Supercopa de Espana titleholders Real Madrid.

Transfer debate: David Villa's low fee marks Barcelona's poor strategy

The recent sale of David Villa to Atletico Madrid has definitely raised quite a lot of questions on the credibility of Barcelona’s poor strategy that was never a subject of interest earlier.

Reigning La Liga champions, Barcelona have agreed to sell star forward, David Villa to Atletico Madrid for just 5.1 million euros, a deal that is indeed a bargain for the capital club as they have just acquired a player who has won everything club and international football has on offer.

Villa’s joining is subject to a medical and if he leaves Vicente Calderon before his contract expires, Barca will get just 4.1 million euros in total for the player.

Although everyone accepted that the Asturian was going to leave Camp Nou this summer, few would have predicted that president, Sandro Rosell and his advisors would sanction a transfer for such a low price.

Barcelona confirmed that they have reached an agreement with fellow La Liga rivals, Atletico Madrid over the transfer of Spanish forward, David Villa. The World Cup winner will move to the Vicente Calderon after he agrees on personal terms and passes a medical. The signing is a bargain for Atleti who make an initial payment of 2.1 million euros and will then pay 3 million euros to the Catalonians if Villa stays at the club for the next three seasons.

Although the Catalan giants will retain 50% from any transfer in the future of the former Valencia star, it is highly unlikely that the striker would command a considerable transfer fee.

Transfer: Barcelona’s Villa and Thiago Alcantara joining Spurs and Man United?

Barcelona are set to lose two of their star players, as David Villa and Thiago Alcantara attract interest from Premier League sides.
Both players saw limited outings last season for Barcelona and will be hoping that a switch to Premier League clubs can better their chances to cement a place in the Spanish squad as it prepares for the World Cup in Brazil next year.

Thiago Alcantara had his release clause reduced from a massive 90 million Euros to just 18 million thanks to his lack of playing time for the club last season. According to the terms agreed Thiago was destined to feature for 30 minutes in 60% of Barcelona’s matches, violation of the terms would result in the midfielder being available for 18 million Euros. However a deal will have to be concluded by the 1st of August which implies that clubs still have a month’s time to make their move for the highly rated Spanish star.

Should Vicente Del Bosque shun the false nine role for the important tie against France?

After seeing Cesc Fabregas struggle for the national team in a false nine role, Vicente Del Bosque might be looking at other players who could perform better down the middle.
Over the years, we have seen trends in modern football change quite drastically. From the fall of the 4-4-2 formation, to the rise of 4-5-1, managers have been modifying their tactics with varying success since the turn of the current millennia.

However, there is one tactical choice that has been used with extreme caution by a selected few top managers of the game. Out of these managers, most chose to discard that formation. Roma did well to execute the 4-6-0 formation to their benefit, Barcelona are one team who have successfully used this formation to their advantage.
