Bundesliga live streaming: Watch Dortmund vs Augsburg on Jan 25, 2014

One of the many surprises of the first half of the Bundesliga season was Augsburg; they will be looking to further derail Borussia Dortmund’s Bundesliga campaign.

Preview: Is Dortmund already out of the title race?

15 points behind Bayern and the season is only halfway through – Jürgen Klopp would be forgiven for feeling a bit downtrodden at this point. Dortmund’s form in Europe hid their abysmal form in the Bundesliga prior to the winter break. Loss after loss came and Klopp really had no explanation. Injuries of course played their part as did weariness. Marco Reus looked set for a much needed holiday by the time the Bundesliga took a break in December 2013.

Dortmund’s last match prior to the winter break saw them lose to Hertha Berlin, 1-2. Prior to this match, they drew 2-2 against Hoffenheim; they were behind by two goals but managed to recover in that match. A loss against Leverkusen preceded the draw against “the Hoff”.

A Bavarian derby is set to take center stage when the DFB Pokal moves into its second day of action in the Round of 16.

Bayern Munich will play away to Augsburg in the DFB Pokal on December 4, 2013.Preview: Is another tense derby on the horizon?

Bayern has put away most opponents with little trouble this season. Their results have progressively improved against Augsburg. In their final meeting in the 2010-11 season, Bayern beat Augsburg 2-1. The first meeting of the 2011-12 season finished 2-1 as well in favor of the European Champions. They went on to beat Augsburg 0-2 in the DFB Pokal and won their next meeting in the league 0-2.Both meetings in the current calendar years concluded with 3-0 home wins at the Allianz Arena.

In the most recent meeting, Jerome Boateng opened the scoring with a superb goal from a very narrow angle. Franck Ribery added the second from a free-kick. Thomas Müller added a gloss on the score when he converted a penalty in the 90th minute. One of the scorers from that day, Ribery's availability will depend on a late fitness test. Bastian Schweinsteiger, captain Philipp Lahm, Claudio Pizarro, Xherdan Shaqiri and Holger Badstuber will all be unavailable though. For Augsburg, Panagiotis Vlachodimos is starting to recover from tendon problems. Dominik Reinhardt has a hand injury. Jan-Ingwer Callsen Bracken and Jan Moravek are doubtful for the match.

Bayern vs Augsburg live: Watch the Bundesliga champions on November 9, 2013

The Bundesliga is set to witness yet another fiery Bavarian derby; a thirty year old record will be on the line when Bayern takes on Augsburg in the Allianz Arena on 9th November, 2013.

Bayern Munich are poised to maintain the top spot in the Bundesliga by beating Augsburg.Preview: Bayern primed to take the honors and keep Bundesliga table top spot

FC Bayern München has not lost a Bavarian derby in almost even years now. The final derby of the past season is a memory which the Bavarians surely store with plenty of fondness. Bayern was presented the shield they longed for that day. They struggled to get out of the blocks on Match-day 33 in the midst of May. It took a Bayern side filled with confidence 69 minutes to finally find the back of the net. Rather unsurprisingly, it was Thomas Müller who did so in classic Raumdeuter fashion.

Ahead of this meeting, question marks remain over whether Müller will start; this is down to his poor form of late rather than injuries. The department of health (and injuries) at Bayern has been inundated this season. Bastian Schweinsteiger joined in recently; he is set to have ankle surgery to be able to play “completely free of pain” by his own admission.

Bundesliga Match-day 27 Preview: Is Bayern set to be crowned the 50th Bundesliga Champion?

The Bundesliga’s Match-day 27 could see the crowning of an old, yet new, champion. During this weekend, the race for fourth place might just have to take a back seat.

The Big Ones

Borussia Dortmund has a great record against most rivals. In recent seasons, they have been able to bat away every domestic opponent rather easily. The only team to not have suffered a loss to Dortmund last season was VfB Stuttgart. Incidentally, during this huge week for German football, BVB travels to Stuttgart.

A 4-4 draw between these two teams was one of the highlights of the 2011-12 season. Another such draw or even another stalemate like this season’s meeting, could bring down the curtains on the title defence of the Ruhr side.
