Valencia vs Almería Match Preview
Almeria are edging closer to reaching the top half of La Liga table.
They moved onto 11th in the standings thanks to a 1-0 win at home to Malaga last Sunday.
This result stretched their unbeaten record – which includes a Barcelona draw – to 7 La Liga matches. Almeria have also lost only once in their last 11 league games.
How difficult will they prove to be for Valencia who are looking to bounce back from their embarrassing 3-0 defeat at the Camp Nou last week?
Los Che are actually aiming to hold on fast in order to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
They presently occupy the third position – being 3 points above Sevilla and 18 points behind joint leaders Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Looking at their 3-0 loss in Catalunya compared to the club’s ambitions, defender Carlos Marchena stated:
"We were beginning to play well and now there may be some doubts. But we must not lose our composure and confidence.
“The goal will be achieved if the Mestalla becomes a fortress,” Marchena concluded.
Valencia have lost only once at the Mestalla stadium this season, and it was in a five-goal thriller against Real Madrid.
Will they stumble to Almeria too?
