Valencia vs Racing Santander Match Preview
On February 28th, Valencia were beaten and beaten well! As the visitors, they went down 4-1 to Atletico Madrid in strange circumstances.
Valencia took the lead through David Silva’s 20th minute goal but the game was set back on level terms ten minutes later when Diego Forlan found the back of the net for Atletico Madrid.
The score line remained 1-1 until the final 12 minutes of the game when Atletico Madrid made the most of Valencia’s numerical deficit through two dismissals.
Sergio Aguero sent the home side into the lead for the first time in the game before Diego Forlan completed his brace on 86 minutes and Jose Jurado rounded up his side’s emphatic win in the 90 minute.
In Monday’s only match, Valencia will look to bounce back against Racing Santander and not “play with inferiority” like Coach Unai Emery conceded after his team’s loss to Atletico Madrid.
Valencia will need to adjust in defense since Marchena and Miguel will not be able to feature due to suspension.
Bruno could rush back from injury to help his side as he wishes to.
“I will try to be there as it is a difficult time for the team,” the defender insisted talking to Super Deporte.
Racing Santander meanwhile are on a miserable run of 5 matches without a single victory.
Their last three games have also ended in defeat. In those ones, Racing failed to score but rather conceded 9 goals in total – 4 of which came away to Barcelona on Day 23.
