Real Zaragoza vs Atlético Madrid Match Preview
Talking about Real Zaragoza, they boosted their chances of surviving the miserable fate of going down to Spain’s second division at the end of the season.
Despite failing to dominate in terms of possession, Zaragoza beat Getafe 2-0 away from home on Day 24 thanks to a double from the sensational Humberto Suazo.
They are now only one point behind Racing Santander who seat a place above them in La Liga table.
At the Estadio de la Romareda on Saturday evening, Real Zaragoza will be up against Atletico Madrid – a side against which they so narrowly lost in the first part of the season.
In that game, Jose Jurado’s 2nd minute goal quickly put Zaragoza behind and Antonio Lopez doubled Atletico Madrid’s lead midway through the second half after Marko Babic missed an opportunity from the penalty spot to draw the game level for Real Zaragoza.
With twenty minutes of the match remaining, Ewerthon finally pulled a goal back through a penalty kick but Zaragoza couldn’t manage to stage a late comeback and they had to accept a 2-1 defeat at the Vicente Calderon.
This weekend, they’ll be room for revenge from the hosts. But the question remains:
Will they be able to stand taller than Atletico – who thrashed Valencia 4-1last week – at the end of the 90 minutes?
