Villarreal vs Deportivo La Coruña Match Preview
Villarreal have no choice but to recover from the humiliating 6-2 loss that was inflicted by Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu last week.
Playing Deportivo La Coruna with the aim of brushing a recent misadventure doesn’t seem to be favorable.
Deportivo are actually five places above 10th placed Villarreal in La Liga standings and they promise to be deadly if they carry even more confidence than what they had when they defeated Xerez 2-1 with quick-fire goals on Day 23.
However, Deportivo certainly need to better their performance if they want to straighten their inconsistent run in La Liga. They missed a bunch of chances lately to increase their tally at the top of the standings.
Defeats against Mallorca, Real Madrid, and Espanyol definitely didn’t help them.
But they will find relief if they make a repeat of the 1-0 victory which saw them beating Villarreal at the Riazor stadium back in September 2009.
However, such a result will force Villarreal to endure their fourth loss in their last six matches. Should the Yellow Submarines succumb to another defeat this weekend, the job of their manager might be on the line.
