Real Madrid continue their hunt for the Spanish Primera La Liga title on Sunday with a home game against promoted side Xerez.
It is a game that the Spanish giants are poised to win no matter the circumstances. Xerez are second from bottom after two consecutive losses to Mallorca and Bilbao respectively.
With the fluency in the game of Real Madrid, Xerez have no chances analytically of causing troubles at the Santiago Bernabeu.
As professionals, Real Madrid are expected to go out and play to win instead of underestimating Xerez. Manuel Pellegrini would like to see his stars perform and avoid a possible upset which would tarnish their good start in La Liga.
The aim of Los Blancos this season is to take it game by game instead of looking at Barcelona’s run. After Real Madrid’s victory against Espanyol last weekend, Granero declared to the media:
“Our war is not with Barcelona, our war is game by game.
“We have won two games, and we have not thought about Barcelona. We will think about them when it's time to face them.”
The Spanish giants will try to use Sunday’s encounter as an opportunity to boost their goal difference.
Depending on the outcome of Barcelona’s derby against Atletico Madrid, Los Blancos could take hold of the first place in the table before Valencia play Sporting Gijon in the day’s late game.

Cristiano Ronaldo is poised to be on the scoring sheet against Xerez on Sunday. The Portuguese winger could make it three in a row after finding the net in Real Madrid's first two league games.
Meanwhile, Kaka and Benzema are yet to score in La Liga.
Kaka was the star man against Espanyol last week but couldn't have his own name on the scoring sheet.
Benzema came close at times against Deportivo and Espanyol but his best efforts could only strike against the post. Perhaps Sunday will be his day and the French man may celebrate his first ever La Liga goal.
