Hull City vs Fulham Match Preview

Hull’s last win was against Manchester City in early February, when they beat City 2-1 at home. Since then the Tigers have lost five in a row and two weeks ago fired manager Phil Brown and replaced him with Iain Dowie.

That win against City, however, was a mere blip on the screen, since Hull’s record makes for dismal reading. The Tigers have won only five of their 30 games this season. What’s worse, they’ve lost 16 and drawn nine.

Now that midfield talisman Jimmy Bullard is back from injury new manager Iain Dowie is hoping injured Irish international Steven Hunt will be available for the Fulham match. Hunt has a foot injury that has sidelined him since early March.

Ashbee, Gardner, Zaki and Zayatte are all listed as unavailable for the Fulham match due to injury. Cooper, Dawson and the aforementioned Hunt may be available, however.

In the reverse fixture in October Fulham beat Hull 2-0 at Craven Cottage.

Fulham’s shocking 4-1 victory last week over Italian giants Juventus in the 2nd leg of their Europa Cup tie didn’t render them immune from the depredations of the English Premier League last weekend.

The victory over Juventus was Fulham’s only win in their last five games in all competitions, and what a win it was.

The Cottagers, undoubtedly walking on air following the Juve match, promptly crashed down to earth again when they lost 1-2 at home to Manchester City at the weekend. They now sit exactly mid-table at 10th on 38 points, even with Blackburn but behind them on goal difference.

Questionable for the Hull match are Bobby Zamora, who was suffering from a stomach bug, and Jozy Altidore, whose hamstring was bothering him. Brede Hangeland may be unavailable too. John Pantsil won’t be available as he is still recovering from a knee injury. Andy Johnson is out for the season. David Elm is also out through illness.
