Tottenham Hotspur vs Blackburn Rovers Match Preview
Tottenham will lack the services of defender Ledley King for two weeks due to a thigh injury. Jonathan Woodgate, Tom Huddleston, Aaron Lennon, David Bentley, and Jermaine Jenas are also injured. Jermain Defoe, however, may once again be fully fit for Spurs' match against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.
The race for a Champions League spot continues. Spurs currently hold the coveted fourth place position in the table. They are on 49 points, along with Manchester City. Spurs are ahead on goal difference, although City have a game in hand. Liverpool is just a point back at 48 and Aston Villa is still within striking distance at 45 with two games in hand.
Blackburn Rovers Lost 2-0 at home to Tottenham in December and manager Sam Allardyce and his men will be looking to return the favor as they travel to White Hart Lane on Saturday.
Allardyce will undoubtedly consider the moment a favorable one for victory since Tottenham will turn up with several key injuries.
Rovers are coming off a hard fought loss to Liverpool but that was ten days ago so they will have had plenty of rest coming into the weekend. Currently in 12th place, Rovers are well clear of relegation.
Sam Allardyce felt his team outplayed Liverpool 10 days ago, but since their finishing let them down he’ll be focusing on attacking options as Saturday’s match approaches.
