Franck Ribery is suspended due to a red card he collected against Augsburg in the previous round of the Pokal. Rafinha is out for Bayern as he has contracted the flu. Holger Badstuber continues to be out after damaging his ACL against Dortmund in the Bundesliga last year.

Robert Lewandowski, suspended in league play, will be featuring in this one for Dortmund. Mats Hummels, Jakub Blaszczykowski and Lukasz Pizsczek have all shaken off nagging injuries and are ready to go. Jürgen Klopp has a full squad to choose from.

Analysis

Bayern, after a season of endless aches, has come back the way they were not quite expected to. This season, they have suffered only two losses in all competitions. This year, Bayern has let in only two goals and has won each and every one of their matches by at least a two goal margin. Dortmund has been playing quite well this season too, especially in the Champions League.

However poor results from time to time in the league have seen them drift seventeen points behind Bayern. BVB lost to Bayern in preseason in the Supercup. They rescued a draw in the Allianz Arena earlier in the season after going down a goal and largely being second best.

Bayern has learnt from BVB it seems. They have added pressing to their game and it has aided them tremendously. They now seem to have a plan B when the customary plan A fails. The Bavarians have a score to settle with Dortmund. They will be looking to win by a large margin on Wednesday. However, Dortmund will be eager to inflict yet another wound on Bayern by knocking them out of the DFB Pokal.
