Both Spain and Uruguay will take the high-profile international friendly as preparation for next month's Brazil 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
Spain, the world and European champions come into the fixture as the favourites, not only due to the number of titles won in recent years, but also because they are unbeaten in their last 17 games, including recent victories over Panama, Belarus, Georgia and Saudi Arabia.
Uruguay, on the other hand, have stuggled enormously in the South American World Cup qualifiers, where they currently lie in fifth-place, eight points behind bitter rivals and group leaders Argentina.
While the two-time world champions will field a close-to full-strength squad for the clash, which includes the impressive three-man strike-force of Luis Suarez, Edinson Cavani and Diego Forlan, Spain boss Vicente del Bosque will be unable to count with the injured trio of Iker Casillas, Xabi Alonso and Xavi.
The accomplished coach has omitted Fernando Torres, Javi Martinez and Roberto Soldado from the squad, and has presented Isco and Cesar Azpilicuenta with opportunities to impress in what will be their official international debuts.
The match will mark Carles Puyol's 100th international appearance for La Furia Roja, giving him the privilege to be one of only seven players to reach this milestone.
Meanwhile, Uruguay striker Suarez needs four more goals to overtake Forlan's record 33 goals, to become Uruguay's all-time leading scorer.
Expect a thrilling encounter, which on paper at least, promises many goals as both teams contain numerous players who are more than capable of finding the back of the net.
