For Bayern, Bastian Schweinsteiger is definitely out of this match as is Daniel Van Buyten. Diego Contento is yet to return while Breno is still being hampered by knee problems. Jupp Heynckes otherwise has a full strength squad to choose from. At the moment though, he might prefer substituting his whole attack for a fit Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Schalke has been hit by injuries to goalkeepers Ralf Fahrmann and Lars Unnerstall. Former Bundesliga winner, Timo Hildebrand is currently keeping for them. Sergio Escudero will not play a part in this one due to injury. Schalke’s attack is simply a delight to watch. One cannot help but tune in for Schalke’s matches. The movement off the ball by the players is superb. They basically attack using the same methods as Bayern. They simply do it better than Bayern does at the moment. The only disastrous result for Schalke really has been a dressing down at the hands of Gladbach.

Schalke can do many things- however, keeping a clean sheet is not one of them. Bayern is quite dominant at home but is currently going through a crisis which money cannot solve. As long as Jupp Heynckes does not come up with a Plan B expect Bayern to play poorly. Only because Schalke’s defence is simply too inconsistent to hold out for 90 minutes, Bayern will score:
