Sporting Kansas City vs Los Angeles Galaxy Match Preview
Sporting Kansas City will play host to the Los Angeles Galaxy on Labor Day with both teams riding high in their respective conferences.
Kansas City are currently second placed in the East, and will be looking for a win to close the four point gap between themselves and the conference leading Columbus Crew.
The Galaxy will be looking for a result that will extend their three point lead at the top of the Western Conference.
Kansas City will be without in-form strike pair Kei Kamara and Teal Bunury. Kamara is away on international duty, while Bunbury is suspended. The pair have combined for seven goals and one assist in te club’s last seven games.
Danell Cyrus, Luke Sassano and Konrad Warzycha are out injured for Sporting, while Craig Rocastle in doubtful with a knee sprain.
The Galaxy attack will be hit hard by international duty as Landon Donovan, Chris Birchall and Robbie Keane will all be missing. Chad Barrett is a likely replacement in the Galaxy front line.
David Beckham and Donovan Ricketts are injury doubts for LA, while Sean Alvarado, Gregg Berhalter and Leonardo are all ruled out.
