Valencia vs Real Madrid Match Preview
There couldn’t be a more exciting way for Real Madrid to resume their Spanish Primera Division campaign than with a clash away to Valencia.

Can you see Real Madrid maintaining their winning ways against Valencia?
Playmakers Cristiano Ronaldo and Mesut Özil had a great time with Portugal and Germany respectively during the international break. Like La Roja record maker Casillas, the two players were part of Real Madrid’s many stars that went on international duty.
Against Valencia, Jose Mourinho should have a strong unit of players. Real Madrid paused their La Liga title hunt with an overwhelming 7-1 defeat of Osasuna in their first midday kick-off.
What many might not be aware of is Los Blancos' incredible record after league breaks. They usually pick up wins and statistics tell that they lead the way with 18 points from a possible 21.
Levante (2nd) and Barcelona (3rd) come behind as the teams to take the most number of points after league breaks since the 2010/11 season. Must the public expect Real Madrid to make mincemeat of third-placed Los Che this weekend?
Cristiano Ronaldo and Gonzalo Higuain boast of having 24 goals between them but the absence of Angel di Maria in the wings could have a negative impact on Real Madrid’s chances against Valencia. Di Maria is out through injury and Mourinho’s task is to use a Plan B to compensate the loss of the team’s assist leader.
Valencia are only 4 points behind Real Madrid in the standings and their home record is promising: Los Che have not lost a single match at the Mestalla Stadium this season. Besides, they’ve not known defeat in any of their last 6 league games.
Los Blancos and Los Che will lock horns at the Mestalla Stadium where La Liga champions Barcelona played out an eventful 2-2 draw back in September. This Saturday, Valencia vs Real Madrid will kick off at 4:00pm EST and 9:00pm GMT.
Valencia vs Real Madrid Match Report
Like Barcelona, Real Madrid snatched all three points on Saturday night. Los Blancos’ victory, however, happened in more dramatic circumstances.

Ronaldo scored as Madrid beat Valencia.
Karim Benzema continued his progressive form for Real Madrid with a terrific strike in the 20th minute. Diego Alves had absolutely no chance of stopping Benzema’s ball from 15 yards out. The game produced a host of entertaining moments and opportunities for both sides until Sergio Ramos doubled the tally after 72 minutes.
Responding to the alert, Valencia pulled a goal back through Roberto Soldado 3 minutes later but Cristiano Ronaldo restored Madrid’s 2-0 advantage. The Portuguese winger punished Los Che’s poor goalkeeping to slot the ball home from a tight angle.
The score line was not sealed, though. Roberto Soldado completed his brace with 7 minutes remaining on the clock to throw Real Madrid into insecurity. The Valencia forward thought to have scored a hat-trick in the 90th minute but the referee rightfully disallowed the goal for offside.
Valencia hit the bar inside the 94th minute through Costa’s free-kick. The match ended in controversy as Los Che accused Gonzalo Higuain of handling the ball inside the penalty box.
