Real Madrid vs Real Betis Match Preview
With the Lyon clash in the Champions League only a few days away, will Real Madrid be focused enough during their La Liga fixture against Real Betis?

Real Madrid are incredibly strong at the Bernabeu.
Madrid rocketed to the third position in La Liga before the international break thanks to a well-deserved triumph over Espanyol. It represented their third victory on the trot in all competitions and their fourth win in a total of 6 matches in the Spanish Primera Division.
Ahead of Matchday 7, Real Madrid stand as the second highest scoring team with 20 goals behind league leaders Barcelona. They also boast of having one of the best defenses thus far having conceded 5 goals only.
Real Betis, meanwhile, have a 9-7 record in terms of goals scored and goals conceded. The Sevilla-based outfit kicked off so well in La Liga, picking up 4 consecutive wins.
Granada, Real Mallorca, Athletic Bilbao and Real Zaragoza all fell against the stunning power of Real Betis. However, 1-0 defeats to Getafe and Levante have forced Sevilla’s local rivals to drop out from the top 6 zone in the standings at this stage of the championship.
Nothing is lost, though. It’s certainly too early to declare that Real Betis have their foot off the pedal. Things are so tight between the first spot and the seventh rank in the Spanish Primera Division as the difference is only of 2 points. Real Betis (12) and Real Madrid (13), meanwhile, are separated by a single point.
Betis will enter Saturday’s fixture knowing that the Santiago Bernabeu is Real Madrid’s fortress. This venue is where the Spanish giants beat Getafe 4-2 and Rayo Vallecano 6-2 this season. Few are the teams that manage to trouble Real Madrid at the Bernabeu—even in all competitions. So what are the chances of Real Betis to get something out of this weekend’s match?
The visitors may have to face the fury of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gonzalo Higuain who both suffered defeat with their respective national team earlier on Tuesday. Ronaldo and Higuain have 12 goals between them.
Real Madrid vs Real Betis Match Report
The international break didn’t have any negative impact on the fitness of Mourinho’s top assets. Ronaldo, Higuain and Kaka combined to inspire Los Blancos to victory against Real Betis.

Higuain hit yet another hat-trick in La Liga as Cristiano Ronaldo provided 2 assists.
Throughout the first quarter of the match, Real Betis approached Real Madrid as if they were not playing at the Santiago Bernabeu. The visitors didn’t seem intimidated by Los Blancos’ home crowd.
Unfortunately, however, they lost Vadillo through injury. The forward had to leave the field on a stretcher in the 18th minute. This blow was meant to help Real Madrid.
But Kaka produced a rather ineffective performance during the first half, leaving the public to wish for the introduction of Sami Khedira. Just a few minutes before Higuain’s opener for Real Madrid, Kaka squandered a huge opportunity.
The Brazilian midfielder was left with the easy task of driving the ball past the goal line from the penalty spot. Somehow, he managed to drive the ball incredibly high and wide; Cristiano Ronaldo’s great effort from the byline had come to practically nothing.
But those who thought Kaka should have been taken off at the break got proved wrong. The number 8 player redeemed himself with a fabulous strike inside the 59th minute of the match. This time, Cristiano Ronaldo’s hard work had been rewarded. Kaka also received a round of applauds from the crowd as he went off for Di Maria.
Jorge Molina then took advantage of Real Madrid’s disorganized defending in the box to pull a goal back. Game on for Real Betis! Ironically, though, the Spanish giants responded to the call in a matter of seconds. Gonzalo Higuain netted his second of the match inside the 70th minute to make it 3-1 to the hosts with a cool finish.
The Argentine forward, who has been on fire lately, continued his hot form by completing his hat-trick 2 minutes later. At 4-1, Real Madrid could relax. The game was probably over for Real Betis. In fact, it was.
