Real Madrid vs Getafe Match Preview
The Santiago Bernabeu will host this weekend’s Real Madrid vs Getafe match as Los Blancos will be put to an early season test.

Cristiano Ronaldo and company are poised to inspire Madrid to a victory on Saturday.
Ahead of this weekend’s local derby, the talking point has been around Ricardo Carvalho’s commitment at Real Madrid. His controversial and sudden retirement at the international level might appear as rather good news for Los Blancos.
However, Jose Mourinho has been quick to downplay the importance of the Carvalho case which involved Real Madrid team mate Pepe. The Special One’s players have come together again following the long international break and Jose Mourinho has assured that the team spirit at the Santiago Bernabeu has not been affected by anything.
“The relationship between Ricardo Carvalho and Pepe is excellent. It's always been like that and nothing has changed,” the coach told Lusa.
“This situation has nothing to do with Real Madrid. What happens with Portugal's national team is none of our business.”
Interestingly, Real Madrid vs Getafe is a 8:00pm local time kick-off. Records tell that Los Blancos have never lost a game scheduled for this time of the day under Jose Mourinho. Saturday’s encounter will be the 9th on the list.
Some of Real Madrid’s 8:00pm kick-off results include their 6-1 and 8-1 trouncing of Racing Santander and Almeria respectively. Note that Los Blancos have lost points once in a 0-0 draw away to Levante. On home soil, however, 8:00pm matches have always produced victories for Mourinho’s outfit.
Getafe were held 1-1 at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez by Levante the other time whereas Real Madrid commenced their domestic season with a remarkable 6-0 triumph away to Real Zaragoza. Los Blancos currently top the standings on goal difference.

Cristiano Ronaldo kept his goal scoring form for Real Madrid through a controversial penalty.
Karim Benzema put Real Madrid into the lead after 14 minutes. Cristiano Ronaldo doubled it on the hour mark through the penalty spot. In fact, it was a controversial decision from the referee to award the hosts with a spot kick. Camera replays proved that the foul on Ronaldo was committed outside the box.
In between these 2 goals, Getafe’s Miku had pulled one back. He completed his brace in the second period as the visitors looked set to upset Madrid. At that point, Getafe were losing, but only 3-2.
In post, goalkeeper Moya produced terrific saves for Getafe. However, his heroics weren’t enough for his side to emulate the achievement of Real Sociedad who had held Barcelona to a 2-2 draw earlier in the day.
Real Madrid needed Gonzalo Higuain’s 88th minute strike to kill off the contest for Getafe. The Argentine striker made an impact a minute after coming off the bench. Midfielder Kaka, who was at the centre of transfer rumors throughout the summer, provided the assist.
With this win, Los Blancos top La Liga standings with 6 points and a (+8) goal difference. Next weekend, Real Madrid will be away to Levante in La Liga.
