Everton vs Stoke City Match Preview
Everton will be looking for their third straight win when they play host to Stoke City on Sunday.
Everton’s recent back-to-back wins have lifted them to ninth place in the Premier League table and they are currently one point ahead of Stoke.
The game will be played in front of an emotional Goodison Park crowd, as a pre-game tribute is planned for Gary Speed. Former Welsh international Speed played 65 games for Everton, and the Toffees were the club he supported as a boy.
Everton could be boosted for this game by the return from injury of Sylvain Distin, Phil Neville and Jack Rodwell.
Jonathan Woodgate will return for Stoke after sitting out of the midweek 1-1 UEFA Europa League draw against Dynamo Kiev. Andy Wilkinson also missed the Kiev draw that guaranteed Stoke progress to the knockout stages of the Europa League, and is an injury doubt for this game.
