Libertad vs Vélez Sársfield Match Preview
Libertad needs another miracle to advance to the Libertadores semi-finals. Fluminense defeated the Paraguayan squad 3-1 in the first-leg game away, but Libertad was unstoppable at home and secured its qualification.
Velez Sarsfield demonstrated their superiority last week in Liniers, by soundly defeating Libertad 3-0. Maxi Moralez opened the score in the first half, and Juan Manuel Martinez sealed the victory with a double in the last fifteen minutes of the game.
Moralez could not train normally last Monday due to a muscular fatigue, but it's expected he'll be fully fit to perform in Asuncion. Velez's coach Ricardo Gareca recovers Santiago Silva, Fortin's top scorer.
"It's not easy to control this level of anxiety" said Libertad's coach Gregorio Perez. "Velez is a dangerous rival, they're not going to speculate with the three-goal advantage. We're confident on what we do, our balance is our strength" he added.
Can the Paraguayans stop the favorite from reaching the semi-finals?
