Palermo vs AC Milan Match Preview
Milan have to cope with two away goals going into the second leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final against Palermo on Tuesday.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic will start alongside Pato for Milan
Milan won their eighteenth Scudetto on Saturday by virtue of a 0-0 draw against Roma, and even coach Massimiliano Allegri abandoned his usual reserve to join in on the celebrations in Rome. However, the second-leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final has returned to the purview for Milan. It must be difficult to maintain focus after winning the most important domestic honour, but Allegri has the capability to keep his team focused as himself.
The coach admitted that the squad were still jittery with excitement during training, but any excitement was curtailed by the size of the task ahead. If Milan are to reach their goal of the domestic double, they have to neutralize Palermo's two away goals from the first leg. Achieving that at the Renzo Barbera will be difficult.
First-choice defence likely to start
The Rossoneri conceded twice in a 2-2 draw during the first leg at the San Siro. Their defence during that game was somewhat makeshift as only the mainstay Thiago Silva started alongside Massimo Oddo, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, and Luca Antonini.
Allegri is expected to field a full strength Milan for Tuesday's showdown. Alessandro Nesta and Thiago Silva will be flanked by Ignazio Abate and Antonini in defence.
Gennaro Gattuso is suspended for this game, so Mark van Bommel, Clarence Seedorf and one of Matthieu Flamini and Massimo Ambrosini will comprise the midfield. Kevin-Prince Boateng will be the playmaker behind the pair of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Pato. Ibrahimovic is an injury doubt, but he is expected to recover in time.
Milan's probable starting XI: Abbiati; Abate, Nesta, Thiago Silva, Antonini; Van Bommel, Seedorf, Flaimin; Boateng; Ibrahimovic, Pato.
Pinilla, Pastore and Hernandez--the main operators
Mauricio Pinilla, Javier Pastore and Abel Hernandez were the trio that caused Milan the most problems in the first leg, but it remains to be seen how much luxury they are afforded by Nesta and Thiago Silva.
Ilicic and Fabrizio Miccoli were options that Palermo used in the first leg, albeit the latter came on with just four minutes of regulation time left. Palermo will most probably opt for the same line-up as the last game.
Palermo's probable starting XI: Sirigu; Cassani, Goian, Bovo, Balzaretti; Migliaccio, Nocerino, Acquah; Pastore; Hernandez, Pinilla
The talk
Allegri: "There’s a lot of enthusiasm because we’ve secured the Scudetto. After the celebrations we trained well this morning and the lads are ready, because the idea of returning to the Stadio Olimpico, irrespective of what happens between Inter and Roma, is appealing." (Gazzetta)
Palermo coach Delio Rossi: "[On Tuesday] we can write history for Palermo and Sicily." (various)
Prediction
Milan have strongly underlined their intent to win their first Coppa Italia since 2003 (the last year they did the double by also winning the Champions League) by winning a possible showdown with Inter in the final. They will treat this game seriously and win 2-1.
