Monterrey vs América Match Preview
One of the biggest matchups of the weekend has defending champion Monterrey facing an América team reeling from their latest big loss to Cruz Azul at home.
The Eagles might be without star defender Aquivaldo Mosquera who sustained an injury in last week's derby match. Monterrey come off a mid-week victory over those same Cruz Azul players who beat América and will look to finish their run at the top Mexico City teams with a win over the Carlos Reinoso coached side.
Monterrey will have all of their players at their disposal which will mean Humberto Suazo is back in action for the Rayados, the Chilean striker missed three weeks of matches after the Clásico Regiomontano during which he sustained an arm injury that kept him out of circulation.
América manager Carlos Reinoso spoke about his rival in glowing terms, even going so far to say that he was "afraid" of Monterrey's impressive record and strike power.
