San Jose Earthquakes vs Real Salt Lake Match Preview
Real Salt Lake will open their 2011 season on the road against the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday night.The Earthquakes attack with be led by last season’s MLS Scoring Champion Chris Wondolowski. The Quakes will also be bolstered by the addition of playmaking midfielder Simon Dawkins, who joined on loan from Tottenham Hotspur during the offseason.
Salt Lake will be in good form already, as they have spent the preseason advancing to the semifinal stage of the CONCACAF Champions League. RSL won the first leg of their Semi-Final against Deprotivo Saprissa 2-0, with Alvaro Saborio and Fabian Espindola finding the net.
Defender Jamison Olave suffered a hamstring injury in midweek, and is an injury doubt ahead of this game.
