Necaxa vs América Match Preview
Friday night will feature a showdown between two teams with wildly different season objectives: America completed a dream week in which they took home all nine points up for grabs, catapulting them into the top part of the league table and settling their fan base after a horrid start to the season.
Coming off a 3-1 victory at home vs. Querétaro, the yellow clad warriors take their show on the road and face Necaxa, who are staring relegation in the face after collecting just one of 15 possible points. With just 12 games remaining in the Primera División seaon, Necaxa currently occupy the last slot in the race that determines who falls to the Liga de Ascenso.
Making matters worse, the home team will be without their head coach Sergio Bueno, who is serving a suspension due to seeing red in the previous match. Otherwise, they will have a slight advantage due to the fact that America first choice goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa will be out thanks to an injury. The visitors are also without Nicolas Olivera and captain Pavel Pardo, due to various maladies.
America sealed Necaxa's previous fall from grace when they defeated them 1-0 at the Estadio Azteca in May of 2009.
