Sevilla vs Málaga Match Report
Sevilla suffered Malaga's visit to the Sanchez Pizjuan. The hosts opened the score early in the first half thanks to Alejandro Alfaro, but Jose Rondon gave the advantage to Malaga with a double in less than 10 minutes. Sevilla finished the first half one goal behind, but eventually Koffi Romaric lead Gregorio Manzano's Palanganas towards an important victory.
"Of course I'm concerned, we receive an abnormal amount of goals" said Malaga's coach Manuel Pellegrini. It was Sevilla's first victory in eight matches, in which they were defeated six times.
As Sevilla levelled the game in the 32th minute thanks to Antonio Negredo's header, it looked like the second half won't be as difficult as early expected. Malaga's midfielder Quincy, who assisted Rondon in the first two goals, found the net with a powerful shot.
Sevilla might not have played their best game in the season, but the frequent mistakes committed by the visitors' defense gave them a fair opportunity to secure the game, and they didn't waste it. Malaga will have to struggle next week at home to claim their ticket for King Cup's next round.
