1. FC Köln vs FC Sankt Pauli Match Preview
Lukas Podolski played well for Koeln in his last outing and performed excellently against Azerbaijan for Germany. The Koeln midfielder will perhaps have a few tricks up his sleeve for the newcomers to the Bundesliga, St.Pauli.
Koeln are yet to pick up a point this season. Captain Youssef Mohamad will be suspended for this one. St.Pauli were slightly unlucky to lose to Hoffenheim at home in their last game in the league.
Koeln should be able to pick up all three points against the northerners. However, it is St.Pauli’s unpredictability which makes the team so much fun to watch. The “skull and bones” flags will be out for this one.

Koeln earned a much-needed three points against St.Pauli. Lukas Podolski had a goal ruled out for offside early in the match. A last minute challenge by a Koeln defender denied St.Pauli a goal shortly afterwards.
Koeln got their goal when Fabian Boll lost the ball in midfield. Koeln strung together a few neat passes and the ball went to Lukas Podolski who struck with plenty of power. The ball rebounded off the post and fell kindly to Taner Yalcin who scored.
Christian Clemens, who was sporting a bandage around his forehead, took a ferocious shot from long range but was denied by Pauli keeper Thomas Kessler. Captain Podolski had a great chance to double the lead but fired wide from a slightly wide angle.
St Pauli failed to capitalize on the chances they had. Koeln move on to three points while Pauli stays on three points.
