Sporting Braga vs Academica De Coimbra Match Preview
Five defeats in their last seven matches have accentuated a poor season for Braga, saved only by notable successes in the Champions League. If the Arsenalistas don’t want to miss out on European football next season they badly need to get their act together in league play. Academica will also look to bounce back after the 5-1 hammering they took at home to Maritimo in the last round.
Sporting Braga vs Academica De Coimbra Match Report
Braga bounced back from some indifferent results with a resounding win to get themselves back in the hunt for a Europa League berth. Three goals in the opening 35 minutes from Paulo Cesar, Paulao and Keita put the Arsenalistas in complete control.
Academica were forced to push forward in the second half, and Braga took full advantage by scoring two more goals on the counter-attack through Meyong and Hugo Viana.
It was the second week running that Academica conceded five goals. Nevertheless, it came as a surprise when coach Jorge Costa announced his resignation from the Coimbra club.
