Heerenveen vs Twente Match Preview
Ron Jans and Michel Preud’homme were exchanging compliments when they were talking about the match between sc Heerenveen and FC Twente on Friday. “An upcoming top club”, Heerenveen coach Jans said about Twente. “A team without any real weak spots”, Twente trainer Preud’homme said about Heerenveen.Twente said goodbye to the Champions League on a high note on Tuesday, when they drew 3-3 against Tottenham Hotspur recovering from a goal down three times. “We are mentally strong”, defender Peter Wisgerhof said after the match.
Heerenveen lost 2-1 at FC Utrecht last week, but Jans did not want to think of that match as a disappointment. “We did not get what we deserved, but we played well and that’s what we have to keep in mind for the future”, the coach said.

SC Heerenveen trashed FC Twente 6-2 on Sunday. “Very disappointing”, Michel Preud’homme said. “Usually our defense is well-organized even when we play an all out attacking game, but today everything fell apart. The team I saw did not even look like the Twente I know.”Oussama Assaidi was the big man with Heerenveen. The 22-year-old Moroccan born Dutchman scored a hat-trick and handed two assists as well. “The coach said I had to turn to the inside with their right back Roberto Rosales”, Aissaidi said. His first two goals (20‘, 32’) came after he tricked Rosales to turn inside for a shot on goal.
The title holders came back into the match twice thanks to Nacer Chadli (32’, 51’) goals and after their second goal they seemed to be capable of turning the match around. However in the 63rd minute Aissaidi was unstoppable again and Viktor Elm easily headed home the assist. It was the end for Twente and Luciano Narsingh (74'), Assaidi (87') and Mika Väyrynen (89’, penalty) added to the score for Heerenveen. Twente could have taken the Eredivisie lead if because PSV drew 0-0 against De Graafschap on Saturday, but instead they dropped back a point.
