After the goal the home team did not push through and they gave Willem II a chance to come back into the match when Andreas Lasnik converted a spot kick in de 38th minute.
In the second half NEC geared up and Lasse Schöne (55’) hit the target with a long range shot and John Goossens scored the 3-1 in the 66th minute. NEC’s win marked the first time the Red-Black-Green brigade defeated Willem II twice in the same season.
