Atlético Madrid vs Valencia Match Preview
Reigning European champion Atletico is in great need of the three points to stay alive in the fight for the last European places. Valencia wants to take advantage of its momentum, as Unai Emery's Ches are only one point away from the third position, ready to leave Villarreal behind upon a positive result in Madrid this Saturday.
Valencia is chasing two rabbits at the same time, as Schalke 04 is waiting for Emery's boys on Tuesday to advance to the quarter finals of this year's Champions League. Che's coach might choose not to risk his top players and rely on the 14-points advantage from los Colchoneros.
Quique Sanchez Flores recovers Diego Forlan and Juanfran, who'll be joining Sergio Aguero and Jose Reyes on the attack. Atletico's coach will have to come up with an idea to strengthen his defense, as Filipe Luis and Tomas Ujfalusi won't be able to perform.
There will be numerous absentees on Valencia too: Ever Banega received his fifth yellow card and won't be able to perform, while Juan Mata struggles with an injury that will keep him once again away from the fields. Pablo Hernandez, Chori Dominguez and Vicente will lead the advance from the wings, with Roberto Soldado or Aritz Aduriz as the main attacker.
A decisive clash for the future of both Atletico and Valencia, who'll leave the Vicente Calderon with a smile upon its face?
