Almería vs Getafe Match Preview

Michel's Getafe wants to celebrate another victory to overcome Europa League's elimination earlier this week. Almeria can open a three-point gap from the bottom fight upon a victory, but Getafe will be a tough nut to crack of Jose Luis Oltra's boys.

Adrian Colunga, Cata Diaz and Borja Fernandez and Mario Alvarez are all ruled out with injuries. Uruguayan striker Juan Angel Albin won't be able to perform, having received his fifth yellow card last week. So many absentees pose a threat to the identity Getafe has been showing during the last match days, but it seems Michel has more than one ace up his sleeve for this clash.

Last week's sound victory 3-1 against Sevilla in Andalosia boosted the morale of Almeria to the sky. Pablo Daniel Piatti is the main referent in the team, leading the advance and making meaningful contributions to the attack with mid distance shots. Almeria might recover Marcelo Silva for this game but miss Juanma Ortiz in the back line. Hernan Bernardello is likely to watch this game from the bench, as he struggles to recover from an injury.

Derek Boateng, Manu del Moral and Javier Arizmendi will have to outwit Almeria's midfielders to secure the full scoring and take Getafe three points closer fro mthe last European place. The hosts cannot let the visitors take the full scoring if they want to leave the bottom fight behind. Who'll succeed?

Almería vs Getafe Match Report

Getafe suffered more than expected to secure the three points in Almeria. Azulones' captain Manu del Moral lead the awakening of his team, coming back from a 2-0 partial defeat. It was Getafe's fourth consecutive victory, enough to feed their ambitious European dreams

Just as the game started the hosts found the opener as Kalu Uche with a powerful header in the 7th minute of the game. Fifteen minutes later, Miguel Torres' cross found Jose Ulloa inside the box, and the Argentinean striker beat Jordi Codina. Luckily for Getafe, Del Moral shortened Almeria's advantage only five minutes later.

The game took a radical twist in the last 45 minutes. Getafe's captain and Miku built a strong offense that overwhelmed the hosts from the very first minute. Miku himself score the leveller in the third minute of the second half. Pedro Rios could have score the winning goal but the ball went millimeters away.

Pablo Piatti and Diego Valeri were the most unbalancing players in Almeria, but they failed to recover the upper hand for Jose Luis Oltra's boys.

It was Derek Boateng who received Del Moral's assistance minutes after the hour mark to gave Getafe a one-goal lead. Michel's boys dominated the game and asphyxiated Almeria's midfielders.

Almeria finishes the year highly compromised with the relegation fight, while Getafe obtained three decisive units to fight for the European qualification.
