Estudiantes Tecos vs Necaxa Match Preview
Two bottom-dwellers take the pitch in Guadalajara as the hapless Estudiantes Tecos face off against relegation favorites Necaxa in a match that screams "There's always next season."
Eduardo Acevedo's team has won just one of their last four against Necaxa, and one of their last six matches overall in the Apertura 2010. They are sixteenth of eighteen teams.
Necaxa will have to secure at least a draw if they wish to stay above the Guadalajara-based team, as they place fifteenth after 13 games this season.
Even more troubling is their relegation ratio, which is a tidy 1.000 (13 points in 13 games) and dead last thus far. The red-and-whites will have to make due without four regular starters out due to injury in this one.
Estudiantes Tecos vs Necaxa Match Report
Necaxa snapped a two-game losing streak and netted their first away victory since August 7th by beating Estudiantes at the Tres de Marzo, 2-0.
Everaldo Barbosa and Ezequiel Orozco cemented the result, with goals in the 23rd and 77th minutes, respectively. Marcelo Alatorre came onto the pitch in the 65th minute for the home team, and promptly left it twelve minutes later, product of two yellow cards which saw him sent off.
The red card was a reflection of the game's roughness - 11 cautions were shown total by match referee Paul Delgadillo.
The result leaves Estudiantes Tecos at the bottom of the league table, with 12 total points.
