DC United vs San Jose Earthquakes Match Preview
The San Jose Earthquakes travel to D.C. United with a chance to clinch a playoff berth against a team who has never beaten them in MLS regular season play. D.C. are the worst team in MLS but did produce an upset 1-0 victory on the road at Colorado last week.
D.C. have a lot of injuries on the back line, and have even resorted bringing in USL defender J.P. Rodrigues on emergency loan from Miami FC. United must also do without Rookie of the Year candidate Andy Najar, who will be suspended through yellow card accumulation.
The Earthquakes can clinch a wild card berth if they win and Kansas City lose. The Earthquakes will hope a strong defense and the creativity of recent arrival Geovanni can lead them past D.C. here and take them on a playoff run.
PREDICTION: D.C. United 1 San Jose Earthquakes 1. A tie keeps the Earthquakes on track but will not clinch a playoff spot.
