Colorado Rapids vs DC United Match Preview

Colorado have a good chance to consolidate their wildcard playoff standing with a home game against rock bottom D.C. United. The Rapids are on a five game winning streak at home and have scored 14 goals, while letting up only one during that run.

The Rapids attack will be led by current MLS Player of the Month Omar Cummings, who scored six goals in four September games. Cummings will be partnered by USA international forward Conor Casey, who returns from suspension.

D.C. are enduring a nightmare season and it is unlikely they turn things around here. United have not won in Denver for over 10 years, and new coach Ben Olsen will miss the game due to suspension.

PREDICTION: Colorado Rapids 4 D.C. United 0. The Rapids put a beating on hapless D.C. to further solidify their playoff spot.

Colorado Rapids vs DC United Match Report

Colorado lost 0-1 to DC United. The result ends the Rapids five-game unbeaten streak at home, and gives DC United their first Colorado win in ten years.

United striker Danny Allsopp scored in the 47th minute, nodding home a spilled ball from keeper Matt Pickens. Teammate Troy Perkins handled the rest with several sublime saves to keep his clean sheet, help his side win the game.

Colorado rested key players for the match and may have underestimated their opponents. The Rapids are still in with a chance of going to the playoffs, while DC United remain out of the running.
