Chicago Fire vs Los Angeles Galaxy Match Preview
There is no mistaking that Saturday’s match between the host Fire and the visiting Galaxy is a big one. There might be different reasons at hand though. Chicago, who sit five points behind San Jose for the eighth and final playoff spot, need a win to keep their postseason hopes alive. Western Conference leaders Los Angeles will look to continue their steady play throughout the season. Ending a two-game losing streak, not a real sign of panic, would be ideal for the visitors.
And, the Galaxy should be confident. Freddie Ljungberg and Marco Pappa will both be missing for the hosts as Ljungberg faces a suspension for yellow card accumulation while Pappa is away with Guatemala for international duty.
True Galaxy fans might have revenge on their mind with the way Chicago treated the host Galaxy in their match last month. The visiting Fire scored three goals inside of 20 minutes at the Home Depot Center as they ran out 3-2 road winners.
With Ljungberg and Pappa out, look for Patrick Nyarko’s quote: “We’re going to lose a lot without them” to come true.
2-1 Los Angeles.
