River Plate vs Argentinos Juniors Match Preview
Just two days after playing against Boca Juniors (as the Superclasico was suspended due to a heavy rain) the Millonarios will have to receive home a devil ready to leave the Monumental with a smile upon their faces. Having obtained 10 of the last 12 possible points, Argentinos has entered a winning streak that has taken them to the fifth position, and they might even have a shot to enter top-three if everything works in their favor during this week. This match is regarded by team's defender Matias Caruzzo as an "extra motivation" to join the fight at the top. Federico Dominguez has not yet recovered from a knee problem and will leave its place to Gonzalo Prosperi. Upon a victory the Bichitos Colorados might leapfrog Velez and secure their place as a candidate for this league's title. Watch out for Nicolas Pavlovich, hero during the last weeks in La Paternal and current team's top striker.
River has one of its last opportunities to get to the top in the tournament, as Leo Astrada's players will be playing for six points in three days, which might take them to the fourth position. The wounds Independiente caused two weeks ago are still bleeding, but it seems not to be affecting the players that much. Without Ariel Ortega (whose current crisis both personal and footbalistic has reached a new peak during the last weeks) Marcelo Gallardo will have to take the lead of its team to create opportunities for both Gustavo Canales and Rogelio Funes Mori to take advantage of.
