Hull City and Arsenal have both been charged with misconduct following the contenscious match at The Emirates Stadium last week. The charges were levied following a melee that erupted after Samir Nasri stepped on the ankle of Hull\'s Richard Garcia. Hull City manager Phil Brown has called the charge \"scandalous,\" and places the blame for the incident squarely on Nasri. More importantly, however, Hull lost 3-0 to the Gunners and now they must prepare for Manchester United at home on Sunday followed by Bolton away on Tuesday. With a win and three draws in their last six matches the Tigers have shown they can get the occasional result, and the manager is said to be hopeful of bringing in fresh blood in January to support the cause. But the club\'s war chest is empty, so Brown must sell to buy, or face 2010 with the squad they currently have.
In their 0-3 loss to Fulham last weekend Manchester United proved that deputizing midfielders like Michael Carrick and Darren Fletcher to provide back four defense is an activity fraught with peril. Injuries to Ferdinand, Vidic, Brown, Evans and O\'Shea have caused a crisis at the back and manager Sir Alex Ferguson will be relieved at that he\'ll get some defensive reinforcements for the upcoming fixtures. The boys from Brazil,…Fabio and Rafael da Silva, are said to be fit to play this weekend. If he can get quality defenders back on the pitch Sir Alex will be able to move his midfielders back where they belong. Last week\'s game showed the weaknesses of Anderson and especially Scholes, who really must start to consider another profession. Away to Hull City on Saturday and home to Wigan on Wednesday are two matches that the Red Devils would normally consider points in the bag. But this is not your normal Manchester United and although they are still likely to win both holiday fixtures, there are no guarantees that United will be able to keep pace with Chelsea at the top of the table.
