Oman vs Brazil Match Preview

Nov 15th 2009
This Tuesday, November 17th, Brazil will play Oman for the very first time at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat, Oman.

Strong aspirations for both sides

Currently at two very distinctive levels of soccer in their respective countries, Oman and Brazil share a common goal in continual growth with their levels of play.

Brazil, coming from a steady win against England in Qatar 1-0 this Saturday, will need another victory to show that they mean business and will be top contenders at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

Oman, while not qualified for the 2010 edition of the World Cup, will continue to grow and set their sights on the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

A win-win situation for Oman

Regardless of the outcome, Oman will be thrilled to host one of the most celebrated nations of soccer.

Banking off the fact that Brazil recently played in Qatar, the Oman Football Association took a step in the right direction by getting coach Dunga’s Seleção to play in their country.

Disappointed with their loss at home this Saturday against Australia for Asian Cup Qualifiers, Oman will need to step up their game against a Brazilian side that should prove more difficult than anything they have ever experienced.

Dunga not overconfident with his team

Despite being ranked #1 in the world by FIFA and beating England in Qatar this weekend, Dunga believes that Spain are the favorites to win the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

The team against Oman will be a European based squad and will most likely contain many reserves that were on the bench for the game against England.

Injured Robinho (Manchester City) has recently started training with the squad again, but Dunga states that he will not play.

Hulk (Porto), a newcomer to the Amarelo had limited playing time against England, but will surely get more against Oman to see how his attacking style mixes with the team.

The final game of the year for Brazil will surely be an exciting one as history is made and new foes are faced.
