Speaking to Spanish Radio show El Partidazo de COPE, midfielder Ivan Rakitic admitted that he was not feeling 100% fit for last night's game, since he spent the previous night with fever.
"I'm really tired, I had a fever last night, I wasn't able to get out of my bed because I needed to recover and gain some strength. But in the end, it was worth the effort," Rakitic stated.
The midfielder boasted about the team's chances to win their first World Cup title, and after playing Wednesday's game despite his illness, Rakitic confirmed that nothing was going to stop him from playing on Sunday.
"If I had a leg cut off, I'd tie it around my back and play either way. I wouldn't mind. I'll give everything to defend my country's pride," Rakitic added.
