The Spanish tactician will take over the team's managerial duties after he ends his World Cup adventure with La Roja this summer.

After 12 days without a coach, Real Madrid have finally found the man that will try to replicate Zinedine Zidane's success as their boss.

After many polls were published by fans and media websites, Florentino Pérez shocked the world of football by naming none other than Julen Lopetegui, Spain's former boss, who is days away from leading La Roja in the 2018 World Cup.

Moments ago, Los Blancos issued a brief press release on the matter, stating that the Spanish boss will join the team once La Roja is eliminated from the competition.

"Julen Lopetegui will be the Real Madrid coach after the celebration of the 2018 World Cup. Real Madrid CF announce that Julen Lopetegui will be the first team coach during the next three seasons. Julen Lopetegui will join the club after Spain's participation in the World Cup, after two years leading the national team," the brief press release states.

Surprisingly, this will be Lopetegui's third managerial experience away from Spain's National Team system. The current La Roja boss had previously coached Rayo Vallecano and FC Porto. In between those jobs, he enjoyed a rather successful stint with La Roja's youth categories, winning the U-19 European championship and the U-21 European championshp in 2012 and 2013, respectively. The 2013 U-21 champions featured players such as Alvaro Morata, Isco and Thiago Alcántara, to name a few.

Lopetegui's late arrival to the team might mean that Florentino Pérez will be in charge of putting together the team, with special attention to Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale's future.
