Coach Jorge Sampaoli was forced to change his roster just one day after handing it in.

Seems that luck is not on Argentina's side, as one of their key players has been left out of the 2018 World Cup due to injury.

One day after Jorge Sampaoli handed in La Albiceleste's final roster for the competition, the former Chile tactician was forced to change the callup, as goalkeeper Sergio Romero was dropped from the team due to a knee problem.

Romero picked up that injury during March's friendly between Argentina and Spain, and he failed to recover properly since then. He was expected to play on Saturday's FA Cup final, but José Mourinho chose to start David De Gea instead.

"Nahuel Guzmán will be the goalkeeper replacing Romero in Argentina's World Cup roster"

Romero's injury will give Sampaoli one more headache, as Man United's goalkeeper was his most experienced shot-stopper. Now, the position will be up for grabs, with Willy Caballero(Chelsea) , Franco Armani(Argentina) and Guzmán(Tigres UANL) fighting for that honor.
