France Football magazine’s latest study confirms Lionel Messi as the highest earning football player and Jose Mourinho as the highest earning coach.

Per the figures served up by the magazine, the Barcelona man is miles ahead of his arch-nemesis as far as revenue generation is concerned for the 2017/2018 football season. Messi’s gross earnings in salary, bonuses and commercial revenue stands at 126 million euros ($154 million) while Cristiano Ronaldo is currently making 94 million euros (114.8 million).

Last season, the Portuguese forward topped the list with 87.5 million euros with Messi following suit with 76.5 million euros. Third on the list per France Football magazine’s study is PSG’s Neymar Jr. The 26-year-old Brazilian who completed a big money move to the French Ligue 1 last summer is on an 81.5 million euro wage bill.

Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale completes the top four with 44 million euros and Barcelona defender Gerard Pique comes in at the fifth position on 29 million euros. In the coaching department, Jose Mourinho leads as the biggest earner with 26 million euros.

He is followed by Guangzhou Evergrande boss Marcello Lippi on 23 million euros. Diego Simeone and Zinedine Zidane complete the top four with 22 and 21 million euros, respectively. Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola sits in the fifth position with a gross total earning of 2o million euros.
