Mohamed Salah has revealed the reason behind him mocking the Red Devils after they were eliminated from the UCL by Sevilla.

The world of football was left in awe when Jose Mourinho’s men fell to a 2-1 home defeat against Sevilla in the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League. The ripple effect was seen all over social media as fans took to various platforms to air their opinions on the plight of the English club.

Along the line Liverpool’s in-form forward, Mohamed Salah, who did not want to be left out of the fun, aimed a dig at the Red Devils via his Twitter account. Before the Champions League match between Man United and Sevilla, the 25-year-old forward featured in the game which saw his Liverpool side fall to a defeat at Old Trafford.

The player was subsequently slammed for his performance as he was kept at bay for the most part of the game by Ashley Young. Addressing the episode while on international duty for Egypt, Salah highlighted the reasons behind his tweet.

"As for being active on social media, I sometimes go on it and follow things… At the end of the day, social media for me is something you do for fun,” he added according to Metro.

“I can’t let it affect me, change my mood or change my perspective on life. I'm not even bothered with it.

“I can go on it for joking around, like the funny thing that happened last week. It was funny but it’s all over now.”

Prior to leaving for international duties, Mohamed Salah scored a poker in Liverpool’s 5-0 victory over Watford to smash a host of records in the English Premier League.
